Entry to the Qantas Lounge Tamworth This would have to be one of the smallest lounges that I have been in. The actual lounge is unstaffed so you are given a code for a pin pad as you check-in. You go through 1 door just to the right of the cafe past security, and take a left and enter the lounge. This image shows the departures area through the door to the left, and the Qantas lounge through the door straight ahead. The Qantas Business Lounge Space The lounge has a...

Returning from the US in early January, the high season also meant high prices. So we booked the return trip through Webjet, flying Virgin Australia premium economy from Sydney to LA, and then back to Sydney in Delta's equivalent; premium select. Delta premium economy doesn't come with lounge access, however we were able to use the Delta Skyclub at LAX with our velocity platinum membership. Cabin & Seats The Delta premium economy cabin is twice the size of the Virgin Australia one, with 6 rows of 2-4-2. The seat is very...

We decided in late September to head to the US for New Years, to catch up with some friends in Los Angeles. And then head up to Portland in Oregon to see their home. We normally book long haul flights closer to 10-11 months out, so booking so close meant fares were high. And there were certainly no reward seats available. So we paid about $4,500 each for Virgin Australia premium economy. Luckily there were still 2 seats by a window that we could choose. Being Platinum Velocity members...

Entry to the Strata Lounge Auckland Access to the Strata Lounge Auckland airport is available to premium guests of the following airlines: Virgin Australia China Airlines China Eastern China Southern Hainan Airlines Hawaiian Airlines Korea Air Malaysia Airlines Philippine Airlines Samoa Airlines Sichuan Airlines Which is quite a list - and it's also available to priority pass holders. Luckily enough at 6am it was only flights to Australia leaving, so the lounge was quiet. I used this lounge before a Virgin Australia flight from Auckland to Sydney - and I...

Entry to the Qantas Lounge Melbourne International Flying out of Melbourne International airport on an Emirates or Oneworld flight, as a premium passenger, means you can use this lounge. If you're a Oneworld premium flyer, or flying business class on Qantas, Cathay Pacific, China Eastern, American Airlines, British Airways, LATAM, Qatar, Fiji Airways or Malaysia Airlines, then you can access it. If you're a Qantas or Oneworld Platinum or Platinum one flyer, or flying first class, then you'll want to use the Qantas First Class lounge instead. I visited this...

Entry to the Cathay Pacific Lounge Hong Kong - The Pier Business This review is for the Cathay Pacific Lounge Hong Kong, The Pier business class lounge. Which is adjacent to gate 64 of Hong Kong International airport. Entry is available to business class and status flyers of Cathay Pacific - including Oneworld status members. I visited this lounge after my flight from Melbourne to Hong Kong - you can see that review here. Entering the The Cathay Pacific Lounge Hong Kong - The Pier This lounge is extremely large. I recently flew from Hong Kong to Boston as part of a trip from Australia to east coast USA. Finding award flights using Qantas or Velocity points direct to mainland USA is pretty difficult. So going through Asia when you're going to the east coast doesn't take that much longer. And, you get to avoid LAX - winning! This particular flight was the final leg from Australia (you can read my review of my Melbourne to Hong Kong flight here). I had a 3 hour layover at Hong Kong...

Entry to the Qantas Lounge Sydney Domestic There are 2 Qantas lounges at Sydney domestic airport. There is the Qantas club, which is available to Qantas Club members. And then there is the Qantas business lounge, which is available to business class guests, as well as platinum and platinum one Qantas frequent flyers. So the Qantas Business Lounge is the more premium of the two. I visited this lounge before a Qantas A332 business class flight from Sydney to Melbourne. You can see that review here. The Qantas Business Lounge Space This is...

A recent holiday in the US ended with 5 fantastic nights in Miami. I checked the Qantas website each day for about 4 weeks to keep an eye on award flights, and finally decided to connect through Dallas on to Sydney. Business class on American Airlines 772 to Dallas, then first class on the Qantas A380. It did seem a bit luxurious using so many points on first class, but you need to fly first class at some stage, and I'm not a fan of the Qantas A380...
